Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Research Technician in Boston, Massachusetts
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Technician with hands-on experience in 10x Genomics or similar technologies to join our dynamic research team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting ongoing projects within the Van Allen Clinical Computational Oncology research group. They will also be responsible for organizing and maintaining records, as well as assisting with the collection and processing of samples for ongoing clinical studies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in oncology.
The positions in this job family will assist scientists in performing scientific research, development and/or clinical tasks of varying complexity. In general, they will assist in the set up, operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring experiments, making observations and calculating and recording results.

● Perform experiments using 10x Genomics technologies, including multiome assays, spatial transcriptomics, from tissue preparation, quality control assessments, and library preparation.
● Operate and maintain 10x Genomics Chromium Controller and Visium CytAssist and other relevant laboratory platforms and equipment.
● Troubleshoot and optimize protocols to improve experimental outcomes.
● Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, including sample processing and data management.
● Contribute to lab organization, reagent preparation, and ordering supplies.
● Participate in weekly lab meetings and present updates on ongoing projects.
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, genomics, or a related field.
● Experience in 10x Genomics techniques such as single-cell RNA sequencing, multiome sequencing, and/or spatial transcriptomics.
● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
● Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and adapt protocols as needed.
● Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
● Proficient with molecular biology laboratory techniques.
● Experience with mammalian cell and tissue culture techniques is preferred.
● Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, including the ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
● High level of initiative and motivation; ability to work independently and with a team.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Knowledge of information and techniques related to either biology, chemistry, or medicine is preferred.
Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to work with a wide variety of faculty and staff.
Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work-related issues and problems.
Must have attention to detail and be thorough in completing work tasks.
Ability to work within a team environment.
